Baby girl is here!

Time for a birth story!

We were scheduled to be at the hospital at 8:30pm on 2/26/15.  My IPs arrived shortly after and we got the ball rolling.  My OB inserted a balloon to start my dilation and had me try and rest.  We weren't sure low long this process would take so my IPs went to their room and tried to get their last night of sleep for awhile.  The balloon started the contractions and fell out once I hit 4cm.  My OB broke my water at this time and I also received my epidural.  The contractions had a great pattern for the rest of the night but were unfortunately not making me dilate as much as my OB had wanted.  So at 8am he started a pitocin drip.  At about 11:15am I noticed that baby girl started to look a little funny on the monitors and I was trying to move to my side to help her out.  At this point the contractions were painful and I had a feeling we were close to the end.  My OB walked in at this time and looked at me and asked if that most recent contraction felt different and I said yes.  He lifted up the blanket and said- it's time!!  So they rounded up my IPs and located my husband who was on the hunt for a snack.  ***My OB is the best OB that I have ever had in my life.  He knows he's good and every single person I meet has nothing but praise for this man.  He is so calm and collected yet in charge at the same time.***  So I hear them call out the time of start of procedure as 11:25am.  He has me take a breath and push, take another breath and push.  Then stop!  Then he says just another little push- I did not hear this instruction so I did nothing and his next words are Great job!!  Time of birth- 11:26am. My IM cut the cord and my OB cleaned her up.  Here are a few pics of the occasion...

My IF 'safe in the corner'.

Such a sweet moment.

My IM said I looked proud in this pic and my reply was that I was just happy to see her complete.

  1. I have been out of the blogging world for months and I'm just catching up. I love birth stories and they always take me back to the amazing night when my surrogate delivered my two boys. The emotions will always be there. Thanks for helping me remember an amazing moment in my life through and amazing moment in yours.
